Not all Flash

Dhtml Art and lovely, lovely code

Dhtml Art and lovely, lovely code

Although I use Flash mostly, and am forced to tolerate it’s controlling feel and face, there are codes wandering the world that do just as much, purely in the browser.

http://www.dhteumeuleu.com/ the more than lovely site of DHTML Art and code wonders of Gerard Ferrandez is filled with experiments and indeed artworks created entirely in DHTML (the D is for Dynamic).

While some of the work here feels like an experiment or borrows heavily from others graphics (credited). The GENIUS lives in the code, which, GULP, is provided to you.  Click on Gallery in the menu below and then click on source.  BUT if you use Gerard’s amazing code, then not only should you CREDIT him, but you should also donate.  Also, keep in mind, that you can’t just copy his code, shove in some text and images and call it your creation. You need to play and fondle and adapt the code to MAKE IT YOURS. Still give him some cash and love.

This is some pretty amazing work, and I would hope the foundations for many future digital poems.
